This was only confirmed to be connected to Thunderclaps in 2021 when the MC’s indirect descendant appears in a Thunderclaps novel wielding the same sword featured in this story.

This one is something of a crossover novel since characters from (I think) every previous entry in the series either has a cameo appearance or is mentioned in relation to the plot.

He was doing his best to consume as little magic power as
possible while using his weight reduction magic.
It made for good exercise.
But he was finally done.

It was deep in the mountains, well away from any roads, and
far from the land elf village too. He doubted even hunters visited this remote
flatland.

“It looks like she fell from here,” answered Kaito while
looking down from the cliff.

down from the cliff to detect any magic down there.
He had used the same method to search out Berry in the cave
that one time.
“Don’t worry. I can sense her magic. It’s mostly normal, so
she must not have been seriously injured. She must have been fortunate enough
to land in some water below.”
“Thank goodness.” Berry breathed a sigh of relief. “But what
was she doing here? Did she follow us?”

viewing a clearing located fairly low down.
They were in a part of the mountains about an hour’s walk
from the village.
They had gone in the opposite direction of the closest road,
bringing them close to another road on the other side of the mountain.
That meant they were deep in the mountains.
No one would ever visit here unless they were a hunter or up
to no good.
These two were here because of the monsters that had been
appearing near the village recently.
“What is the meaning of this, you pervert!?”
Kaito was lazing around at home when Nicola barged in and
started yelling at him.
Around a month had passed since Kaito started living in the
land elf village.
In that time, he had built a small house on some empty land
in the village and worked it into a home for himself. He had started growing
vegetables in the field too. He had failed in his first attempt, but now they
were growing nicely. The faster growing ones would be ready to harvest before
too long.
There were still frequent monster sightings around the
village.
He would go on regular patrols to ensure none of the
villagers were attacked, but it still concerned him.
Regardless, he had ended up living a stable life in the
village.
The elves there had accepted him and he had found the slow
life he had been looking for.
Well, except for the one loli elf who still saw him as a
threat.
“Phew, that should about do it.”
Kaito wiped the sweat from his brow while viewing the field
he had just made.
This was originally an empty lot out behind Lemon and Berry’s
house. It had been untended and covered in grass, but he had tilled it himself.
Two weeks had passed since his arrival in the loli elf
village.
The next thing he knew, he was living there. while he slayed
the occasional monster and took care of any heavy lifting someone needed done,
he had completely lost his chance to leave.
He was even starting to think that living the slow life here
might not be so bad.
After all, it really was calm here.
The closest human village required walking out to the nearest
road, hitching a ride on a passing carriage, and riding half a day. And that
village had only about 30 people. The closest actual city was two days from
that village.
That meant no humans ever visited the loli elf village.

the cave.
He focused his ears, but
he couldn’t hear a response.
They must have gotten
completely separated.
A day had passed since
the dragon attack on the loli elf village.
Several people had been
injured during the attack, but not from anything the dragon did directly. It
was mostly scrapes from tripping and falling in their haste to flee.
Minor injuries like that
wouldn’t have been an issue if not for the sheer volume of them. They were
running out of healing herbs.
That was why Berry had
gone out to pick some herbs near the village and Kaito had accompanied her as a
bodyguard. After the dog monster and the dragon, it was too dangerous for her
to be out alone.
Kaito could have healed
them all with his magic, but he decided to keep quiet about that since it would
have sent his lust out of control again.
“How did this even happen?”
Kaito couldn’t believe what he had done.
He was the hero.
Although former hero may have been more accurate.
Regardless, he had patience and the willpower to overcome
temptation and he had trained his ability to make smart decisions.
When the Demon Lord had offered to join forces with him and
rule this and every other world with their combined powers, he had bluntly
refused.
Admittedly, that had mostly been because ruling the world
sounded like a pain in the ass and it would have interfered with the slow life
he wanted.
Still, he had planned to only accompany Lemon and Berry to
the river and part with them after washing.
But then Lemon had wondered aloud if they would encounter
any other monsters on the way home and Berry had insisted she fix him a meal
when they arrived at their village, so he had obediently followed along.
